Abandoned Pittie Can’t Stop Wagging His Tail When Help Arrives

An abandoned pitbull had the best reaction to being rescued. Despite being on the verge of death, Charlie couldn’t stop wagging his tail when help arrived!

Charlie the pittie was found on the streets in bad condition.

Shira with The Animal Rescue Mission spoke with The Dodo and explained that a Good Samaritan saw the dog wandering around in the Compton area and got him into her car. The person drove the dog to the rescue for help.

Shira described him as being emaciated and “in such bad shape.” His body may have been broken, but his spirit wasn’t. “He was wagging his tail and he was so happy and he just wanted love,” Shira said.

She was able to get him into a veterinarian but they didn’t know if he’d survive at first. Slowly but surely, though, he began to gain strength. After three weeks at the vet, he was finally ready to go home.

While some rescue dogs, particularly pit bulls, struggle to find loving forever homes, Charlie was immediately adopted by a wonderful man named Jay.

Jay lives just one block from the beach, so Charlie can go running across the sand at sunset every night.

No one is sure what happened to Charlie before he was taken off the streets, but it wasn’t good. He was so severely neglected, it’s likely he was used as a bait dog.

But now, he’s living his best life with a family that loves him.
