If you’ve had dogs in your home before, you likely know that even the best-behaved dogs can turn on those big ol’ puppy dog eyes when food comes out!
My dog, Jax, would never take food without asking and he doesn’t beg, but whenever I eat, he’ll casually lay under the table hoping for a loose scrap of food to fall. I think it’s adorable, but that’s partially because he’s small enough to curl up by my feet without causing a ruckus.
For those with bigger dogs, meal times can be a bit trickier. Some dogs really get in their owner’s faces in hopes of tasting a morsel of human food, and they don’t let their large size stop them from trying to be lap dogs!
Some dogs, like Great Danes, are especially interesting to have around when the food comes out.
According to the American Kennel Club, Great Danes are taller than “most people” when standing on their hind legs, and generally tower over other dogs when on all fours. Some people refer to them as horse dogs because they’re so large!
Needless to say, having a Great Dane in the home is not for the faint of heart. They take up a lot of space and that alone can be a lot to handle.
A dog owner named Maddy has taken to social media to share about what life is like living with not one but two Great Danes!
Maddy is the mama to a harlequin Great Dane named Larry and a black Great Dane named Joe. Both dogs are well-loved and you can really see their personalities shine through when Maddy posts about them on social media.
In a recent TikTok video, Maddy shared what it’s like to eat with both of the dogs in the house and it’s nothing short of hilarious.
Joe is curled up on the couch, trying to get as close to Maddy as possible. Larry, on the other hand, is inching his head as close to her soup bowl as possible, using his puppy dog eyes to beg for a lick.
“One is trying to get close to mom the other just wants her soup!!!” she captioned the post.
