Freddie spent his first year of life with an elderly woman who couldn’t properly care for him. He didn’t go on walks, he didn’t socialize with others dogs, and he rarely left his yard.

But when his owner passed away, his world changed forever.

The poor orphaned pup was left in his owner’s yard alone, with no one to care for him.

Thankfully, a family member informed DAR Animal Rescue about the dog and gave them permission to enter the property and take him – and that’s exactly what they did.

DAR rescuers found the dog in the cluttered yard, but when they hopped the fence to take him, he got frightened and hid under a car.

The rescuers weren’t about to give up though and they patiently coaxed him out with some tasty food.

Once they got Freddie into a crate, they took him straight to a veterinarian for a check-up. They got him neutered, vaccinated and ready for a new life with an owner who loves him.

Freddie will finally get the life he deserves. He’ll learn to use a leash, play with other dogs, and enjoy the world as a pup should, and that’s a beautiful thing.
