More and more often, we see people moving and not taking their animals with them. It’s always sad when the animals are left behind, but sometimes they get a new beginning with a family that truly appreciates them.
Such was the case in St. Louis when a mother dog and her two puppies were abandoned. They were in a good position, however, thanks to Stray Rescue of St. Louis.

When the rescuers at Stray Rescue of St. Louis pulled up to the house, they saw that it was abandoned and then they saw the mama dog followed by her two little puppies.
They described it in their YouTube video, saying: “A neighbor yelled, ‘Yeah! They moved away and just left them! They’ve been running in the streets.’”

These types of videos always get right to the heart. We see the love that these little dogs have to offer, but somebody was just selfish enough to not be able to see it. They were abandoned, living on their own and struggling to get by.
As far as the mother dog was concerned, she was as sweet as pie. The little puppies, however, were not very happy to be around humans. When Donna, one of the rescuers, tried to pick up a puppy, it even nipped at her.

In a Facebook post, Stray Rescue spoke about her being the sweetest mama they’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. They then followed it up by saying: “However, one of the grumpiest little puppies we’ve ever met.”
Fortunately, they were able to turn things around. They named the mother dog Pumpkin Patch and she sat up front and loved the ride. The little puppies, Eckerts and Stuckmeye, are already looking forward to getting with the foster family. They are still looking for one to help Pumpkin Patch.
