Being a stray animal is hard, but it’s even harder where there are people out to get you. We’d like to think that most people are compassionate toward animals, but that’s not always the case.
Sadly, one sick stray pup was being run out of a neighborhood in Los Angeles, California by a group of people who didn’t want him there.
Instead of seeing the dog and calling for help, the locals threw rocks at him and tried to scare him away. It was a horrible situation for a dog to be in, but thankfully, Lisa Chiarelli stepped in to save him.

Chiarelli called Lisa Arturo with Big Love Animal Rescue and explained that there was a dog in need of help that was being targeted by the neighborhood.
Sadly, when Arturo arrived to find the dog, he was no where to be seen. According to The Dodo, the rescuers asked Chiarelli to set out a blanket on her porch in hopes the dog would find it.

The next day, they found the dog curled up asleep on the blanket, just like they’d hoped. He was too sick and tied to run anymore. He’d given up, but help was finally there.
The rescuers immediately knew he needed to be seen by a vet. He was suffering from a skin infection and an eye infection. After he was examined, they determined he wouldn’t have survived more than another two or three days. His blood work came back a mess and he needed a lot of medication and care to recover!

Thankfully, he was in good hands. Slowly but surely his fur started to grow back and his scabs went away. He put on weight and little by little came out of his shell.
Once he was physically ready and medically cleared, the sweet dog was put up for adoption and quickly found a loving couple to take him home. While it took a little while for him to get comfortable and feel safe, he’s now a huge goofball! He loves his doggy brother and his parents and has a huge yard to call his own.
