Sharing is caring. But when you’ve got nothing much to offer, yet you offer it up anyways, that makes the caring a bit more special.
It’s not just humans who are capable of sharing what they have with others. Animals are just as capable, and it is so heartwarming to know that they can be kind and generous like humans. One little homeless puppy was left to fend for himself when he found a piece of bread.
He was carrying it around when he met his rescuers and promptly offered it up to them. The gesture was so endearing, it will definitely make you well up to watch.
Little Gunnar was a tiny puppy living on the streets. He was not in good shape. According to The Dodo, he was suffering from anemia, had tick bite fever, and several eye infections. He was so young and had so much wrong with him, that it was a miracle he was still alive.
Despite it all, he was as sweet and as friendly as ever, and more than willing to share his food with the people who found him. Now, if that isn’t an example for us as humans, I don’t know what is. Gunnar was picked up by Sidewalk Specials, who tried to look into Gunnar’s history.
They soon learned that his owners were from the Groendal township of Franschoek in South Africa. They were unable to spay Gunnar’s mom, so they just sent her away and ended up handing over her puppies for euthanasia.
One way or another, Gunnar got lost in the shuffle and forgotten about, and so he ended up on the streets and having to fend for himself. Gunnar had been living as a stray out in the cold for a whole week before Sidewalk Specials showed up.
Rachel, who works with Sidewalk Specials, had no doubt that they managed to find him right in the nick of time. She shared with The Dodo that when they went to get him, his tail didn’t stop wagging, and she could tell that the pup’s “positive attitude kept him going.”
It wasn’t long until Gunnar ended up going to live with Freya and her partner, and he’s been living his best life since. He’s definitely had quite the lucky turnaround in life!
